StarBand® Certified Installer Training

You can train to be a StarBand Certified Installer by taking the training courses on-line and testing on-line.

Here's how:

Note that there are both Internet Based training courses and some that are downloadable.

Start out by downloading the "StarBand Model 360 full version"

Open the downloaded course and study the material. It is strongly suggested that you go through the entire course at your own speed.

At the end of the course, there will be a pre-certification test. Take the test. When you pass it, you'll be given a reference number. Make note of that reference number! You'll need it to take the certification test.

When you feel that you're ready to take the certification test, go to:
http://training.starband.com/html_files/certification_test.htm.

Read all the instructions and FAQs, and heed all the warnings on the page. Near the bottom you'll find a link "StarBand Model 360 Certification Test (Full Version)". When you click on that, be ready to take the test. You'll need the number given to you when you passed your pre-certification test. You'll be asked what dealer or distributor you're associated with. At this point, enter “Roving Internet” without the quotes.

It is an open book test, so you can keep a copy of the training course open on your computer. You can also keep copies of manuals open for reference. There is no time limit.

Once you've passed the test, you'll be given a certification number and asked to set a "Passcode". Both of these numbers are very important, so make notes of them!

Once you have your 360 certification, you'll be able to go to the http://www.starband.com/training/ site. You'll be asked to enter your name, certification number, and passcode to access more information and change your personal information.

But, before you log-in there to look at or change any of your information, note that there is a link on the page for Nova training and certification. Click on that link and go through the training and the 27 question test. When you pass that test, the Nova certification will be added to your basic certification. You will need the Nova certification to be eligible to test a Nova system after moving it.
